Hi Clare, Just a little note to let you know how pleased I am with my cheek fillers.
They make such a difference in the most natural way. An amazing result.
Most of us will probably admit that we are not entirely happy about the way we look. You may have heard about dermal fillers but be a little unsure about what they are, what is involved and how you might look afterwards.
As we age the qualities we associate with youthful skin start to deteriorate as our natural moisturising ingredient, hyaluronic acid, is lost and our collagen matrix starts to lose support and break down. The cheeks become sunken, wrinkles appear and the face's oval shape is lost, affecting its overall harmony.
A solution to rejuvenate the facial appearance in a natural and non-surgical way is to add support to the tissues through injections of hyaluronic acid to restore the lost volume. These dermal fillers are gels made up of resorbable, non-animal origin. They have an established and excellent safety record and a wide range of products are available to suit individual requirements. No pre-test is required as the hypo-allergenic gel is so similar to our body’s own natural HA. The effect is not permanent as the filler biodegrades slowly over time.
Dermal fillers are used to help treat wrinkles and restore facial volume. Fillers of different viscosities can be used to treat many problems in both women and men, for example to
Following the completion of a comprehensive medical questionnaire to check your suitability for treatment, Clare will fully explain the procedure and possible side effects. You are then given the opportunity to ask any questions before giving your written consent to go ahead with treatment.
Clare will first apply a topical anaesthetic cream to the area to be treated and allow it to take effect. Occasionally a dental block may be used for the lip area. The dermal filler is then injected with great precision with a very fine needle to achieve an instant improvement.
The treatment will take from 15-30 minutes depending on the extent of coverage and there should only be minimal discomfort. After treatment temporary redness, mild bruising, swelling or tenderness for 2-7 days can be expected. The effects of the filler will be immediate and will last up to 6-12 months or more depending on your age, skin type and lifestyle factors. Maintenance treatments are generally required if you wish to keep the effect, otherwise the tissues will revert back to their pre-treated appearance over time as the product breaks down.
The commonest side effects are shared with any type of injection and typically last only one to three days. These can include slight bleeding and mild bruising or swelling around the area. If you have lip treatment swelling can last a little longer.
Allergic reactions to dermal filler treatment are fortunately very rare, but can happen. These may include redness, itching, swelling, and hardness, or small lumps under the skin, which may last for weeks or months and sometimes longer.
Results are evident immediately. Straight after treatment, the softening of facial lines, wrinkles and scars is clear. Some swelling and reddening may appear as a temporary side effect, but this should fade quite quickly. Clare will review your treatment after two weeks has passed to ensure that you are satisfied with the results.
Costs vary according to the type and amount of product used and the areas being treated.

Lips tend to become thinner and flatter and reduce in volume as time passes. Fine lines and wrinkles appear which affect the shape and definition of the lips and cause those irritating lipstick bleeds. Lip shaping with Juvederm® will help to reverse these signs of aging by filling in any lines and wrinkles, increasing the volume and improving the texture of the lips.
These hyaluronic acid lip fillers have been specifically developed to increase the volume of the lip area and make them plumper and more attractive. The mouth is unique as the delicate tissues that make up the mouth needs to be both soft and extremely sensitive to function properly.
